It might have a compact frame, but this is not a small gun. The width is 1.5” and height is 5.1”. There are two barrel length options: 3.0” and 6.5”. The 3.0” barrel gun has an overall 9.5” length and weighs 37 ounces. The 6.5” barrel weighs 48 ounces and measures 12.5” long overall! Each of these lengths can be had in either of two color schemes: matte stainless and an almost charcoal matte oxide.

The Taurus Judge Magnum has a dovetailed orange fiber optic sight in front and a fixed rear sight to pair with it. The gun features a transfer bar safety. This means that when the gun is designed not to discharge when dropped, etc. and that it should only fire when the trigger is actually pulled.

Aesthetic niceties include how the curve of the external spurred hammer almost echoes the trigger’s curve and how the long cylinder is fluted. But the gun’s standout visual feature is its patented Taurus Ribber Grip. The name is a portmanteau for rubber and rib because it features a stack of rubber ribs that encircle the front and sides of the grip. This is brilliantly functional eye candy that does an excellent job of providing comfort and secure control of the gun’s recoil.
